This pretty Victorian cottage Malvern was built in the fashionable 'cottage ornee' style of the period. Our charming scene depicts a daughter visiting her mother with a Simnel cake. This refers to bygone times when ladies in service were allowed to take time off work on Mothering Sunday for such pleasant visits. This particular house makes a terrific present, to light up any shelf, for a collector, What better gift to give to Mum than this charming cottage. It's from Malvern in Worcestershire. The scene depicts a daughter visiting her mother with a Simnel cake and refers to bygone times when ladies in service were allowed to take time off work on Sundays for such visits.
